About UM-PTKIN

UM-PTKIN (Entrance Exam for Islamic Higher Education) is the test-based admission pathway for Indonesia's State Islamic Universities. The exam uses an Electronic Selection System (SSE) and covers Academic Reasoning, Mathematical Reasoning, Reading Literacy, and Islamic Studies Literacy. Unlike UTBK-SNBT managed by the Ministry of Education, UM-PTKIN is managed by the Ministry of Religious Affairs. The exam is conducted in-person at selected PTKIN locations, not at UTBK test centers. Students who don't pass SPAN-PTKIN can directly register for UM-PTKIN. UM-PTKIN can be registered alongside UTBK-SNBT, as long as exam schedules don't conflict. This gives prospective students broader opportunities to enter both general and Islamic state institutions. UM-PTKIN registration fees are more affordable than UTBK-SNBT.
