About SPAN-PTKIN

SPAN-PTKIN (National Academic Achievement Selection for Islamic Higher Education) is the merit-based admission pathway for Indonesia's State Islamic Universities (UIN, IAIN, STAIN). It is managed by the Ministry of Religious Affairs, separate from SNBP which is managed by the Ministry of Education. PTKIN differ from general state universities: besides standard programs (law, economics, science), PTKIN also offer Islamic studies programs such as Quranic Sciences & Interpretation, Islamic Family Law, Islamic Economics (Sharia), and Islamic Education. Several major UIN (UIN Jakarta, UIN Yogyakarta, UIN Malang) have transformed into full universities with competitive secular faculties. SPAN-PTKIN applicants may also register for SNBP simultaneously — there is no restriction on dual registration. This gives students double the opportunity to enter a state institution.

Beware of Admission Fraud

Common scam types:

  • Offers of "backdoor entry" or guaranteed admission through intermediaries.
  • Payment requests outside official university channels.
  • Fake social media accounts impersonating admission committees.
  • Registration links from domains that are not official university websites.

Use only official channels:

  • Official SNPMB: snpmb.bppp.kemdikbud.go.id

If you encounter suspected fraud, report it to the university or to the police via patrolisiber.id.
